Sable Petals came from wanting to make a flower nail set that did not feel too polite. I love a soft pink flower, but I wanted to place it against something darker and more graphic—because pretty gets much more interesting when it has a little edge.

The set begins with a sheer nude base softened by rosy-pink washes and creamy white accents. Sculpted flowers move from pale blush into warm pink at the petals, while inky black markings frame the design with a hand-drawn feel. Small gold-toned beads gather at the flower centers and along a few edges, adding a warm gleam to the nude, pink, black, and white palette.

This is the set I would wear when a plain outfit needs a better contrast—black denim, a soft knit, or a simple dress all work. It feels feminine, but never overly sweet; expressive, but still easy to make your own. A little soft, a little bold, and very good at doing both at once.
